Successful verification

The project was successfully validated by TÜV AUSTRIA in accordance with the SILVACONSULT® Forest Carbon Standard, which is based on ISO 14064-2:2019. This independent audit confirms that the full use abandonment on 245.9 ha of mountain forest in Friuli is additional, robust and transparently documented. It lays the foundation for issuing verified emission reductions over the 50-year project period.

Project Visit

In 2025, the Pina Earth team spent a day on site in the mountain forests of Vallate Verdi to see the project firsthand. Surrounded by old spruces, firs, larches and beeches, free-flowing mountain streams and abundant deadwood, they experienced what this project protects: a structurally diverse mountain forest that will be allowed to develop undisturbed into a natural forest over the next 50 years.
